I first had this super easy entrée in Italy last summer when I was invited to my friend’s family house in the south of Italy. The figs were organic and freshly picked from the family’s orchard and were just succulent. I loved this combination right away which changes from the traditional Parma ham with melon. I usually prefer San Daniele to Parma ham because it is least salty, but they are both equally good.
Ingredients:
- 8 slices Parma or San Daniele ham
- 8 fresh figs
Peel the figs and cut a cross half way through, open them up to form a flower shape. Place the figs in a plate and wrap loosely with a slice of ham. Buon appetito!
